Personal Characteristics and Motivation Affecting The Happiness at Work of Health Personnel at Sub-District Health Promoting Hospitals in Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study personal characteristics and motivation affecting the happiness at work of health personnel at sub–district health promoting hospitals in Phetchabun province, and identify problems obstacle and instruct on the happiness at work. Sample were 101 health personnel were randomly selected as samples by stratified random sampling of a population of 630. This study collected both quantitative data with a questionnaire and qualitative data with focus group guidelines from 12 people’s key informants. The data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple linear regressions. The results showed that the overall motivation and the happiness at work were at a high level with averages of 3.74 (S.D.=0.41) and 3.72 (S.D.=0.41), respectively. The motivation variable had high positive relationship with the happiness at work of health personnel at sub–district health promoting hospitals in Phetchabun province with (r=0.779, p-value<0.001) and personal characteristics no relationship with the happiness at work. Five the motivation variable: Motivation factors: responsibility and recognition, Hygiene factors : personal life, salary and benefit and working conditions could predict the happiness at work of health personnel at sub–district health promoting hospitals in Phetchabun province at 62.8 percentage. (R2=0.628,p-value<0.001) Initiative is found to be the most salary and benefit factor (40.0 %).
