A Study of 21st Century Learning Skills for High School Students in Cao Bang Province, Vietnam

Abstract

The purposes of research were to: 1) study the 21st century learning skills for students 2) compare the skills for students classified by sex and programs and 3) study the guidelines for developing the 21st century learning skills for students in Cao Bang province, Vietnam. The samples were 370 high school students, second semester, academic year 2016 in Cao Bang province, Vietnam. The instrument using was questionnaire and interviewing. The statistical methods that are used in this research are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis. Research’s Results: 1)  The skills for students in Cao Bang province, Vietnam averages were in the high level (  = 3.58). 2)  The skills for students classified by sex average were not significantly different in every aspect.  3)  The 21st century learning skills for high school students in Cao Bang province, Vietnam classified by programs average were significantly different in every aspect.  4) The guidelines for developing the 21st century learning skills were theory and practices, learning activities, students were creative thinking and solve problems, competitions and trainings on skills and learning by doing.
