Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study (1) generality of motivation, factor, bird characteristic, personal characteristic and buying of Red-whiskered bulbul and (2) The influence of motivation, factor, bird characteristic, personal characteristic in conditions of buying Red-whiskered bulbul. This study was conducted using 2 research methodologies (quantitative & qualitative). With the quantitative approach, questionnaire were used to collect data from 121 persons who buy bird. The data was analyzed, with using descriptive statistics and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. With the qualitative approach, in-depth interview, focus group, structured observation and memos were conducted with 14 person who buy bird. The results indicated that the desire success, friends, age of bird, experience of bird, bird breed and personal experience had 42.2 percent to the influence of success to buying red-whiskered bulbul for contest.
