Abstract

The objectives of this study were the following: 1) to study level of meaning in life, level of friendship, level of family functioning and level of sense of coherence of adolescents in single parent family, Mueang, Amnat Charoen Province, 2) to study the influence of personal factors, meaning in life, friendship, family functioning on the sense of coherence of adolescents in single parent family. The sample used in this research were 218 adolescents in single parent family, the sample were high school students in Amnat Charoen School, Mueang, Amnat Charoen Province. The data was collected by questionnaires and analyzed by a statistical package program. The statistical method. The results were as following: firstly, the level of meaning in life, level of friendship, level of family functioning and level of sense of coherence of adolescents in single parent family were at the high level. Secondly, that parental status (father died), meaning in life (experience value), friendship (help), family functioning (problem solving), family functioning (communication), family functioning (role) and family functioning (affective responsiveness) could predict sense of coherence with the statistical significance at .01 level especially and those of factors could explain it at 74.7 percents (R2 = .747).
