Abstract

Buddhism has praised women as potential as men, so the lord Buddha allowed women ordination. However, it also has the view that women are enemies to men who chasten. For this reason, there are many disciplines for monks concerning women including the grave offence and all ecclesiastical offence. There are two types of women in the discipline: the newborn and the feminine. According to studies, it has been found that mother is considered a woman according to the provisions of the discipline and that is the object of offence. There is no exceptions, therefore, mother worship, physical contact are fault of the discipline. The fact that monks will care for and treat their mothers is a good thing to do as a child. It should be done to the extent that it does not violate the discipline, such as nourishing the body with the 4 requisites and nourishing the mind by visiting and talking. Moreover, it is important to support the mother with the access to the dhamma and right view. Hence, it will be considered to work completely both Buddhist’s children and mother’s children
