THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) APPLICATION USAGE IN AN IOS SYSTEM FOR TOURISTS TRAVELING IN BANGKOK

Abstract

To study the effectiveness of a GPS application usage in an IOS system for tourists traveling in Bangkok, the researcher would like to study Bangkok tourists’ personal information, including their gender, age, education, social status, occupation and income, their access of information, the functions they use, their comfort in usage and the security of information that affect tourists’ traveling in Bangkok. The researcher studied 412 tourists who used a GPS application whilst traveling in Bangkok. The researcher found that the tourists’ personal information had an effect on GPS application usage : the gender difference on the security of information was highly significant, the education differences, status, occupation, function, comfort in usage and security of information all had an effect on the users’ accessing information. The tourists’ personal information, status occupation had an effect on the effectiveness of tourists’ travel in Bangkok and on their usage of the GPS application in an IOS system that enabled them to access information, use all the functions, their comfort with usage and the security of the information.
