This research aimed to study the land use situation in Wiang sub-district municipality area, and to study solve and the land use requirements of all relevant sectors to reach for the land use analyzing to solve the border town’s land use problems. The research covered the area of Chiang Khong border town, located in Wiang sub-district municipality area. The tools used in this study were surveys, interviews, brainstorming from group discussions. The study indicated that, the land use in the area of Wiang sub-district municipality revealed external and internal changes noticing from the forest area reduction, the extended urban development at the southern area of Wiang sub-district municipality), the problems of illegal land ownership, and encroachment of forest areas for agriculture, and land misuse with its potential. So There was a plan under Wiang sub-district municipality’s land development plan, which focused on the land use control for conservation and preservation and the development zone would focus on the community development control.
