Abstract

The objectives of the sustainable irrigation management of royal initiations at Mae Wong watershed area base is a study to: 1) study the context of water management in Mae Wong Watershed, 2) study on water management in Mae Wong Watershed, 3) to develop a model of water management at the community level in the Mae Wong watershed area base. Use qualitative research methodology using documentary research, in-depth interviews from key informants, and focus groups Discussion from qualified and relevant persons.


            Findings were as follow:


  1. In the Mae Wong watershed, there is water management; construction of dams, pool or small pool and build irrigation system of encourage farmers to have their own water sources for planting crops in the dry season.

  2. The community water management in Mae Wong watershed; the pool is used for consumption and some communities; water supply system is integrated with the mountain water system during the rainy season. In the area of ​​water management of ​​agriculture, a part of the peasants will create a bunker mine spread over the land and there are fish pool connected to the mine system, which is the main source of water and the present, there is a growing mix of royal initiations.

  3. The sustainable irrigation management of royal initiations at Mae Wong watershed area based on understanding, access and developed to be consistent and balanced with the system of nature by the royal initiations. The template of King Bhumibol Adulyadej; promote and encourage the Thai people to behave and able to live with nature happily and there are benefits to each other, to create a stable and prosperous and sustainable.
