The Effects of Organizing Learning Actives Using Concept Attainment Model and Active Learning on Mathematical Concepts and Reasoning Ability of Mathayomsuksa IV Students

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were the comparison of the student’s mathematical concepts and mathematical reasoning ability of set and operation of Mathayomsuksa VI students after using concept attainment model and active learning with a 75 percent criterion. The design of research was one-group posttest-only design. The subjects of this study Mathayomsuksa IV students in the first semester of the 2018 academic year at Princess Chulaphorn’s College Chonburi, Chonburi Province. They were randomly selected. The instruments used in study were, 11 lesson plans, mathematical concept of set and operation test has 0.88 of group reliability and has 0.91 significant different standard reliability and mathematical reasoning ability of set and operation test has 0.87 of group reliability and has 0.88 significant different standard reliability. The data were analyzed by using t-test for one sample and content analysis. The findings were as follows:


  1. The mathematical concept of set and operation of the sample group after obtaining concept attainment model and active learning was statistically higher than 75 percent criterion at the .05 level of significance.

  2. The mathematical reasoning ability of set and operation of the sample group after obtaining concept attainment model and active learning was statistically higher than 75 percent criterion at the .05 level of significance.
