Guidelines for Law Amendment on Public Vehicle Safety

Abstract

 ‘Drivers’ fatigue’, derived from stress, illness or exhaust, is one of several factors that leads to accidents. The research, therefore, aimed at studying and finding out the fatigue management of public transport drivers by employing legal measures to solve the problem occurred. The data collection instruments were related theories and legal measures such as Haddon's matrix theory, the concept of fatigue management, and the legal measures regarding the restrictions on Thai drivers’ working time compared to the one enforced in European Union and Turkey. The findings would lead to guidelines for law amendment on drivers’ driving time restriction, which would be beneficial for the secondary legislation imposition under the Land Transport Act, B.E…., and it would also contributes to the guidelines for law amendment on public vehicle safety.
