Abstract

The main objective of this research was to investigate problems in the implementation of intellectual property right protection of movies in Thailand. In- depth interview of key informants were conducted for data collection. The findings pointed out that the implementation of law on copyright infringement was ineffective due mainly to inactive operations of government officials. It was suggested that intellectual property rights should be regarded as a National Agenda. Copyright owners need to seriously participate in the protection and continuous raiding. The government should take active measures against pirate activities, create a fair competition among legal businesses and build good moral traits among its people to understand the impact of copyright infringement.
