Changing Classroom to Active Learning by Facilitator Approach in Industrial Engineering Subject
This research aims to present an active learning model based ongame based learning theory in conjunction with the FacilitatorApproach in PDT 378 Industrial Plant Layout, a course in Industrial Engineering. Measuring attitudes of learners who have completed theplant layout course. This research creates and tests efficiency learningand attitudes of students after completing a game based education course. 24 third year Department of Production Technology Education,FIET, KMUTT students were selected by a purposive sampling method. The research tool was an educational game, combined with pre-post test assessment and student attitude questionnaire. The design of the course includes activities base on learning tools(Plant Design by Lego) that researchers have created in the form ofa teaching assistant embedded within a bunny factory layout. The learnershave opportunities to reflect on learning and self-knowledge. Results from observation and questionnaires show adaptive activities assist teachers and students to build positive relationships. Students weresatisfied with the instructional game at a high level. The performance was 82.50% with a statistical (PLEASE STATE WHAT SCALE - IS THISPEARSON) significance level of 0.05 using an ANOVA to derive the values. The performance was higher than the criterion (80%), and theattitude of the learner toward the learning management model was at the highest level.
