Abstract

This research aimed to examine self-directed learning among undergrad student and compare the self-directed learning among the undergrad student with different majors: Thai dramatic art, international dramatic art, Thai music and western music. The research population consisted of 120 students who were enrolled in the learning and classroom management course.

          The research instrument was a rating-scale questionnaire on the Self-Directed Learning. Data were analyzed in terms of percent, mean, standard deviation, t-test and the statistical technique of Analysis of Variance or ANOVA was employed to compare the Self-Directed Learning.

          The research result:

          1) The students had the self-directed learning characteristics at high level in overall; moreover when each aspect of the characteristic was considered one by one founded in term of providing educational opportunities, responsibilities for learning, love of learning, creative thinking, optimistic prospect, and necessary skill for learning and solving at high level and in terms of creative thinking and learning independence skills at middle level.

          2) The students had the self-directed learning characteristics at high level in overall; moreover when each aspect of the characteristic was considered the majors founded Thai dramatic art, Thai music and Western music at high level and international dramatic art at middle level.

          3) Male and female undergrad student, there were no difference.

          4) The overall self -directed learning characteristics of the majors were no difference.
