Working Conditions in Firms Managed by Foreigners and Located in Nakhonratchasima Province
The study objectives, of working conditions in firms managed by Foreigners and located in Nakhonratchasima Province, were to study three important issues; the personal information of the employees, the opinions of employees and the relationship between the employee's personal and their opinions. The 384 questionnaires were collected and used as the data of this research by multi-stage sampling. Statistical analysis was performed in terms of percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and tested with chi-square statistics, t-test, F-test.
The study concluded that the most of respondents are female with ages between 25-29 years, graduated at level of M.6, single, working in the electronics industry as a daily worker of the production. The firm is run by the Japanese. The employees have 3-4 years of working experience with both current company and the others, also 3-4 years for current company. Their company size is with over 700 people.
The study result of employees’ opinion on working conditions found at high level in overall; policy and administration are at 3.90 in average, working environment is at 3.84 same as welfare and motivation / progress of working, relationships with colleagues is at 3.78 and followed by top-level executives at 3.75 respectively.
The study result of problem related to their working conditions found that the overall is at low level. Nonetheless, it also was shown that factors related to working conditions remain a problem and have the most impact on the performance. That’s the employers do not accept or let employee has an opportunity to comment or suggestion about working. Moreover, the employees’ lack of skills and expertise on their job is another problem because they were not trained or coached enough and their illness problem due to unhygienic environment.
