Abstract

The study of key factors of Thailand university business incubator aims to study on factors that affect the success of Incubator management and offer guidance on the management of higher education institutions in the incubation of stakeholders or entities involved. The study is based on qualitative research, and the sample in the study includes the chairpersons of the Network of Business Incubator in higher education institutions in Thailand where established by the budget of the Office of the Higher Education Commission. The samples comprise 5 networks from the total 9 network, namely; the Upper North, the Lower Central, the Lower South, the East and the Upper Northeast of Thailand. The tool used in this study was an in-depth interview and content analysis obtained by interpretation to create a conclusion. The study indicated that factors that affect the success of management Incubator in higher education institutions were external and internal factors. The external factors include government policy, budgetary support from the government, market demand, the potential of tenants, the cooperation of all stakeholders and cultural of the tenants. The internal factors include University policy, budget support from university, potential of managers and teams, networking, technology and innovation support, the process of incubation include activities to raise awareness of entrepreneurship to the target group were of vital important, the selection process of incubation, the transfer of knowledge or the development of potential participants of a business incubator, process development of the product or service of tenants and budget support or links to funding sources were also significant to the process, evaluation of tenants, follow-up care process after leaving the incubate should also so be included, partners, facilities, and physical, plans of  incubation and PR Agency.
