The Role of Teacher in Theravada Buddhism and Hinduism

บทคัดย่อ

This paper is of 2 objectives namely:-  1) to study of the role of teacher in Theravada Buddhism and Hinduism and 2) to compare of the role of teacher in Theravada Buddhism and Hinduism.
The teacher in perspective of Theravada Buddhism is one who makes training his pupils to be knowledge in all sciences, to devote oneself to his pupils and pass on knowledge to them without distorting and concealing. The most importance is the addition of oneself efficiency in teaching. But the teacher in perspective of Hinduism is one who as light to destroy the dark from ignorance which is the cause of obstruction entering Brahman. So, the teacher’s duty has to pass on knowledge to his pupils correctly and fairly, support them as parent, develop and solve their behavior and habit.  
The similarity is the teacher’s duty is to teach pupil understand in worldly and Dhamma which is knowledge, Dhamma, and elegant. He is a good friend of pupil. Then, the difference is an advice the way of aim of highest teaching that is an enlightenment of Nibbāna and entering Brahman.
