New undergraduates Personality in Airlines Business Major of Kasem Bundit University towards Self-Adjustment to work in an Aviation Industry

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to compare adaptability to work in aviation industry classified
by demographic characteristics of the new undergraduates, airlines business major, Kasem
Bundit University 2) to study personality trait factors of the new undergraduates, airlines
business major, Kasem Bundit University toward self-adjustment to work in aviation industry.
The purposive sampling method was used to collect data from 235 undergraduates with pen-and pencil questionnaire. Data were analyzed statistically in term of frequency, percentage,
mean, standard deviation, T-Test, F-Test, and if differences were found, the differences in pair
were later analyzed by LSD method and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results from the
study showed that the graduates strongly agreed with overall personality traits (x = 4.32). The
new graduates strongly agreed with agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to
experience, extroversion and neuroticism, respectively. Moreover, the overall self-adjustment to
work was at a highest level (x = 4.28). Self-adjustment to work was at a highest followed by,
self-adjustment to working environment and rules & regulations, self-adjustment to their
colleagues and heads, and self-adjustment to the work, respectively.
The result of hypothesis testing at a significance level of 0.05 showed that age and
adopting the knowledge from the study of personality class to adapt in daily of the new
undergraduates, airlines business major, Kasem Bundit University were different. There is a
difference in self-adjustment to work in aviation industry and personality traits of the new
undergraduates, airlines business major, Kasem Bundit University were neuroticism,
extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness influencing self-adjustment to work in aviation industry.
