Abstract

Focusing on a single topic or on the work of a single writer rather than attempting to read a wide variety of texts helps learners become familiar with the context, which makes the language input more comprehensible. Some of the major denefits of narrow reading include increased motivation in reading as well as learning and better understanding of texts which may otherwise be beyond their current competence.
