The Development of School Administrator Model in 21st Century

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to study the factors and indicators of school administrator model in 21st century, and to develop factors and indicators of school administrator model in 21st century.

Research methodology was mixed method between qualitative and quantitative methods.  The qualitative research collected data from analyzing documents, in-depth interviewing a group of 21 school administrator experts by Delphi technique, and gathering data from 7 experts by group discussion technique. The quantitative research collected data from 184 samples with questionnaires and analyzed data with descriptive statistics; percentiles, mean, standard deviation, median and interquartile ranges.

Research findings

        1) The group of 21 school administrator experts strongly agreed with the factors and indicators of 21st century school administrator model which included 1) characters 2) skills 3) roles and 4) responsibilities.

        2) By group discussion, all 7 experts concurred with the 4 factors and 24 indicators of 21st century school administrator model.

        3) The evaluation of 184 administrators and teachers’ opinions of factors and indicators of 21st century school administrator model were at high level.
