Abstract

In Nakhon Pathom province, organic and GAP agriculture information resources are very distributed and heterogenous in nature. This results in the difficulty to share the knowledge and to make it easily accessible by relevant users. Therefore, this research proposes the ontology-based knowledge management approach in agricultural domain to facilitate the integration of heterogenous data on organic agriculture and GAP in Nakhon Pathom province. The developed ontology is served as a backbone to facilitate common understanding and knowledge sharing regarding the organic and GAP agriculture to farmers, consumers, and government officials in Nakhon Pathom Provincial Agricultural Extension Office and District Agricultural Extension Office. In addition, the ontology and its logical reasoning mechanism are able to increase the efficiency of information retrieval by integrating the benefits of both keyword and concept-based search.
