Virtue and Ethics Behavior of Nursing Students: Developing Evaluation form Referred to the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TQF: HEd)

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study factors contributing to creating, developing and evaluating the virtue and ethics behavior form by the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TQF: HEd). The sample consisted of 517 first year nursing students to four years of study in the second semester of 2014 academic year nursing program. Bachelor of Education in the Eastern Region in 2014 include of Phra Pok Klao Nursing College, Faculty of Nursing Burapha university, Chonburi Nursing College, Faculty of Nursing St. Teresa International College, and Faculty of Nursing Srinakarintarawirot University which were selected by multistage sampling. Evaluation form was developed by researcher and judged to be acceptable by a panel of 5 experts. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was .97 the preliminary scale consists of 71 items anchored
by a 4 rating scale. To assess the structure of the factors contributing to evaluation virtue and ethics behavior formed by the Thai Qualifications
Framework for Higher Education (TQF: HEd), exploratory factor analyzed all 71items by means of principle component analysis with orthogonal rotation andvarimax method.

The research findings were as follows: There were 9 significant factors contributing to evaluation virtue and ethics behavior form by the Thai
Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TQF: HEd) that described by 71items accounted for 64.94 % which were: 1) honesty and latch onto nursing ethics, value respect of human being and patient’s right promote 2) code ofethics 3) self responsibility and others 4) integrity 5) self’s control 6) be a goodrole model 7) to separate good and bad 8) self’s discipline, and 9) cognitive of religion.
