Abstract

Abstract
This research purposely intended to evaluate the Care Manager Course on Elderly in Bangkok Metropolis of Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing, Navamindradhiraj
University on input, process, output and outcome. The research samples were 116 trained participants of Class 1 and 2 in 2015. The research instruments used
in this study were questionnaires and open-ended questions of which the content validity were verified by a panel of experts. Internal consistency reliability for
questionnaires was 0.92 and the open-ended question alternative choice exam was 0.56. The statistic quantitative data was analyzed by using frequency,
percentage, mean, standard deviation and dependent t-test while quantitative data was analyzed by content analysis. The findings revealed that the opinions towards the Care Manager Course on Elderly in Bangkok Metropolis on the input, process and output were rated at a high level. The output had the highest mean ( = 4.10, S.D = 0.66) followed by the input and process respectively ( = 4.03, S.D. = 0.46, = 4.00, S.D = 0.54). The knowledge of care management as role of Care Manager among the courseparticipants showed that post learning Care Manager course were significantly higher than pre learning that course (p < 0.001). Where on the outcome, it was found that the research samples had adopted their knowledge and experiences from the training for applications at 85.30%. In addition, problems and hindrances were found in providing services under the role of the Care Manager which account for 65.50%. The recommendations on the providing of health care services to the elderly in Bangkok Metropolis were: the development of the providing of health care service system which shall be participated by all sectors in the form of integration in both government and private sectors, resource management which shall be sufficiently made to cope with the needs, and that the knowledge body shall be continuously developed. However, the research sample group suggested that the training venue should be located at a place easily accessible when traveling, the training documents in all topics or subjects should be compiled in a bound book, duration of the study visit should be increased to be not less than 2 days with the emphasis placed on the practical training exercises and more mutual exchange of learning. The course managers should take the evaluation results into account for proper improvement to enhance optimum working effectiveness of meeting the needs of Bangkok Metropolis.
