Abstract

The agricultural contract made between farmer and entrepreneur called "Contract Farming" is a form of contemporary farming contract mixing between hiring, employing and selling agricultural products or providing service in relation there to. This can be disadvantageous and unfair contracts for farmers and hard to apply the general laws and enforce them effectively. For this reason, it is necessary to have a specific regulation in order to protect and impart fairness to farmers and other related entrepreneurs. The promulgation of the Contract Farming Promotion and Development Act B.E.2560 (B.C.2017) is a response to their needs, promotion and development of agricultural commitments in line with Guiding Principles for Responsible Contract Farming Operations of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO).
