A Program for Developing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Skills of Teachers Under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to develop and evaluate the program efficiency for developing Information and communication Technology (ICT) skills of teachers in schools under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.The experimental groups in this study consisted of 30 teachers and 371 students of Wat bangna Nai school under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The samples were obtained by sample random sampling. The research methods used in the study were semi-test and pretest – posttest in development in 6 steps; 1) to study relevant concepts, theories, and
necessity for development, 2) to draft the program, 3) to review and revise the program by experts, 4) Preliminary field checking and revision, 5) Main field checking and revision, and 6) Program implementing in the target school. The findings could be concluded as follows: 1. A p r o g r a m f o r d e v e l o p i n g Information and communication Technology (ICT) skills of teachers in schools under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration consisted of 5 parts; Part 1 consisted of concept, principle, and purpose, Part 2 consisted of enhancement ofInformation and communication Technology (ICT) skills 1 and the application of Information and communication Technology (ICT) skills in learning management 2, The details of each project included rationale, objective, goal, content, activity guidelines,time and place, budget and evaluation, Part 3 consisted of six-document sets for the project, Part 4 consisted of evaluation of teacher’s development, and Part 5 consisted of the guidelines, conditions, and indicators of success in applying the program for developing information and communication technology skills of teachers in schools under Bangkok
Metropolitan Administration.2. The program for developing Information and communication Technology skills of teachers in schools under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration was efficient with the evaluation from; 1) Average ICT literacy score after development, 85.50% of teachers passed the test and their pretest and posttest scores were different with a significant statistic figure
at 0.01, 2) After developing Information and communication Technology skills, the teachers applied new knowledge and skills into practice and performances higher than before attending
the development with a significant statistic figure at 0.01, and 3)The satisfaction evaluation results to the program of the target teachers and of student to the application of Information and
communication Technology skills in teaching and learning was at a level.
