Descriptive statistics and logistic regression analyses were used for data analysis.

Results of the study showed that most of the sample was female, aged 60-70 years (Mean±SD = 70.07±7.52 years), monthly family income less than 30,000 baht (Median = 6,000, Max = 80,000, Min = 600) and had universal health care coverage (90.95%), while the elderly had the perception of health security at an adequate level (86.88%). Similarly, the overall level of health literacy and health services was adequate (58.60% and 62.67%, respectively). Results of the association between factors showed that the health service access was significantly associated with gender (AOR = 1.89; 95%CI: 1.07-3.35), age (AOR = 1.94; 95%CI: 1.06-3.57) and monthly family income (AOR = 5.66; 95%CI: 1.22-26.19) health literacy in terms of understanding of health information and services (AOR = 3.29; 95%CI: 1.58-6.85), communication and social support (AOR = 4.09; 95%CI: 2.05-8.12), self-management for health (AOR = 2.04; 95%CI: 1.03-4.03) and the overall health literacy (AOR = 4.06; 95%CI: 1.72-9.58). The present study demonstrates the key factors involved with access to health services in the elderly. Health practitioners should become aware of these factors to promote and support the elderly in accessing optimum health services.
Thanyaluk Wichai, Rachanon Nguanjairak Copyright (c) 2023 Thai Journal of Health Education http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/264638 Thu, 28 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Development of Health Behavior Modification Model for Hypertensive Patients with Community Participation at Ban Nong Bua, Sak Long Sub-district, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/264235
This action research used appreciation influence control (AIC) techniques, aimed to study the current problem, knowledge, and practice, developed a model for changing health behaviors of patients with hypertensive patients with community participation, and studied the results of development process. The target group were 50 hypertensive patients in the Ban Nong Bua community, Sak Long sub-district, Lom Sak district, Phetchabun province, and 10 community leaders were representatives from relevant government agencies. Data were collected interviews, observational forms, and focus groups. Data analyzed by descriptive statistics and compare the mean for knowledge and practice with paired t-test statistics, presented with t-test, mean difference (Mean difference: Mean diff.), 95% confidence interval (95%CI of Mean diff.) and p-value. Qualitative data analyzed by content analysis.

The results found that: 1) Most hypertensive patients had a low level of knowledge about hypertension, and their practices of changing health behaviors were low and inappropriate, and participation and support of community leaders and related government agencies is low. 2) The model for changing health behavior of hypertensive patients with community participation found that the action to change health behavior of hypertensive patients consists of 6 projects/activities, consisting of three projects for practice by themselves including (1) exercise project for hypertensive patients, (2) project for growing non-toxic vegetables in the household, and (3) project for friends to help hypertensive patients. And projects that hypertensive patients with high blood pressure must participate in and request cooperation from relevant government agencies. and the community to participate. There were three projects jointly implemented by hypertensive patients, in which relevant government departments and communities are invited to participate: (1) Project to develop a model for changing health behavior of hypertensive patients with community participation. (2) Project to reduce the consumption of food condiments with family support in hypertensive patients. (3) Project to develop knowledge for caregivers of hypertensive patients. And 3) projects/activities themselves, including 1) exercise project for hypertensive patients, 2) project for growing non-toxic vegetables in the household, and 3) Before and after participating in activities according to the developed model, it was found that the mean score of knowledge statistically significantly different (Mean diff.= 11.46, 95%CI: 10.49 - 12.46, p-value <0.001) and mean score of practice statistically significantly different (Mean diff.= 37.93, 95%CI: 34.59 – 41.32, p-value<0.001)
chainupak khunpiluek Copyright (c) 2023 Thai Journal of Health Education http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/264235 Thu, 28 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Development of Chemical Residue Management Model in Blood Samples through Healthcare Following 4E Principles in Tha Lad Khaow Sub-district, Chok Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/264950
This action research aimed to develop and study the results of using this management approach for chemical residue management in bloodstream through healthcare following 4E principles (Emotions, Eating, Exercise, Elimination). The target group were 36 individuals who had a risk level of unsafe chemical residues in their blood. This study had three phases: Phase 1, studying the context; Phase 2, developing the approach; and Phase 3, studying the results of using the approach. The research tools included behavior assessment questionnaires, data recording notebooks, and laboratory test result forms. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, and percentage, and the results were compared before and after using the approach using dependent t-tests. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.

Research findings reveal that: 1) The results of managing chemical residues in blood through healthcare based on the 4E principles consist of 6 components; (1) Training courses for community health volunteers and individuals with chemical residues in blood, (2) Toxic substance management learning center based on the 4E principles, (3) Weekly activities organized by community health volunteers in the community for groups with chemical residues, (4) Monthly blood chemical testing, (5) Herbal sauna room, and (6) Follow-up and evaluation. 2) The results of the development based on the training curriculum for the target group indicate significant statistical differences at a 0.05 level in the comparison of average scores for knowledge, self-perceived abilities, expectations of positive outcomes from practices, and self-management skills of the target group before and after participating in the activities. 3) The results of implementing the program indicate that the target group had chemical residues in their blood at risky levels 22 people and 14 people at unsafe levels. But after participating program, 35 people, or 97.22 percent of the target group had normal levels of chemical residues in their blood, of which 22 people were at risk, changed to normal levels as 21 people or 95.45%, but 1 person or 4.55% was still at the same risk level. In addition, 14 participants were the unsafe group changed to normal level 100.00%. This discovery indicates that the developed approach is an appropriate and efficient method for managing chemical residues in the blood, particularly for farmers and consumers who are exposed to chemical contamination in their food.
Atthawit Singsalasang, Kanjanee Boonyawongwirote, Tongtip Salawongluk, Bhuddhipong Satayavongthip Copyright (c) 2023 Thai Journal of Health Education http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/264950 Thu, 28 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Community Potential Development for Managing Infectious Waste After Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic in Isan Sub-District, Mueang District, Buriram Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/muhed/article/view/265429
This participatory action research aims to study the community context, to develop community potential in infectious waste management and to study the results of the development after the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Isan Sub-district, Mueang District, Buriram Province.
