The impact of blended learning achievement, satisfaction, and self-directed learning in nursing students

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of blended learning on learning achievement, satisfaction, and self-directed learning in nursing students. Qua-si experimental design was used in this study. The sample consisted of 106 nursing students. The blended learning for normal labor nursing care in maternal child and midwifery nursing course was used to teach the third-year students. Data were collected by using questionnaires and the learning achievement evaluation forms. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and dependent paired t-test. The results found that the total mean score of satisfaction on blended learning was at a high level ( = 4.04, SD = 0.58). Moreover, the students had significantly increased mean score of self-directed learning after participated in the blended learning (t = 2.03, p < .05). Only 9.43 percent of the students passed the study criteria of the examination. This study shows the strengthening of blended learning to promoting learning satisfaction and self-directed learning.
