Experience of Older persons in the oversea living alone: Systematic review and Meta Synthesis

Abstract
The number of elders who lived alone was increasing and they faced with various changes that impacted on their daily living. Knowledge of elder who living alone was important for health and social services designs to promote quality of life of them. This systematic literature review aimed to explore existing evidences/ knowledge from qualitative research regarding experiences of older people who were living alone published during 2009-2016 was retrieved from the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and MEDLINE databases and finding reveal 3 themes included; 1) meaning of living alone, 2) way of living alone, and 3) conditional factors of being alone. Evidences from this study provide the knowledge and lessons to be learned for Thai health care and social care providers to understand and could apply for health care and social service design for Thai elderly.
