Desire to study in Master of Nursing Science (Midwifery) among Professional Nurses in Northest Thailand

Abstract

This survey research aims to study desire of nurses for engaging in Master of Nursing Program in Midwifery. Participants were 237 of professional nurses in obstetrics or maternal and child department at province hospital in Northeast. Data were collected by using questionnaires. The data were analyzed by applying descriptive statistics. The results found that majority of participants needed to study for improving knowledge, applying knowledge for existing work, and promote higher educational level. Special contents required were about advanced reproductive technology with midwife role and guideline and innovation in midwifery. This research was useful for curriculum development which served desires of nurses.
