Abstract

We developed and validated quality of self-learning tools regarding chronic kidney disease (CKD) in formats of set of booklets and a multimedia DVD for general population. A hundred participants aged more than 15 years were evaluated . The tools were evaluated content validity by 3-specialists, then, tested with subjects in order to assess general features and the knowledge before and after utilizing the tools. The general features were satisfied for a set of booklet and a multimedia DVD (median=5, Q.D.=0.50). In addition, the average scores of the test after utilizing the tools were significantly increased (p < 0.05) for both tools. Considering both general features and content, these self- learning tools are suitable to distribute to general population for promoting CKD prevention.
