Translation and reliability of the Burn Specific Pain Anxiety Scale Thai version for burn patients

Abstract

 This paper aimed to describe translation process and reliability of Thai version of Burn Specific Pain Anxiety Scale (BSPAS). The authors use the back-translation with monolingual test technique. The result revealed that BSPAS Thai version is the equivalence to the language content and semantic to the original version. Reliability was calculated by measuring internal consistency in 30 hospitalized adult burn patients. Cronbach’s alpha of BSPAS Thai version is 0.82 and item-total correlation coefficients ranged from 0.24-0.76
