Demanding and rate of using complementary therapy for health care are increased rapidly. SLE is a chronic illness and was found 25% of all patients with SLE. literature review and research regarding using complementary therapy in patients with SLE were found that most previous research were conducted in adults and effectiveness of complementary methods did not have clear evidence based practice. However, some complementary methods such as vitamin D, yoga, playing game, meditation, giving information, etc., should be used in pediatric patients with SLE depending on appropriateness for each patient. Nurses’ roles in using complementary therapy composed of symptom management 4 steps as 1) assessment of patient health status, 2) selecting complementary method, 3) monitoring the results, 4) recording and sharing data.Downloads
