Abstract

Fetal movements that are a signal representing the life of the baby while still in the womb. Not making any movements or decreased fetal movements are an important signs telling that the fetus could be in a danger. Counting the fetal movement manually for the pregnant women is one of the methods to assess the fetal well – being, that is to prevent the intra – uterine fetal death; if it’s being helped early. Counting and recording the numbers of fetal movements is the essential roles of nurses to recognize and put more effort pregnant women in the self care and the fetal care based on the concept of pregnant women’s participation. The hospital and its related agencies should have this system as a guideline for record and count of fetal movements. Having the same guideline can help to communicate effectively and to build confidence in the process of counting and recording of the fetal movements for pregnant women. Including research on the methods to implement a proper way to count the fetal movements that the pregnant women can apply this method conveniently and it is the most acceptable methods used. This will encourage and motivate pregnant women to count and record the fetal movements by themselves.
