Digital competency of Thai professional nurses: A qualitative study

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to explore digital competency components of Thai professional nurses. Data were collected by using a semi-structured questionnaire and in-depth interview. Twelve key informants consisted of both digital technology experts and expert nurses they were selected via defined criterion. Data were gathered until they saturated. Data were analyzed by content analysis which comprised three steps: 1) data condensation 2) data display and 3) conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that digital competency of Thai professional nurse’s embraces three components with 23 sub-competencies as follows: 1) knowledge component, eight sub-competencies, 2) skills component, eight sub-competencies, and 3) attributes component, seven sub-competencies.
