The effect of Thai massage on activities of daily living, anxiety and depress in stroke patients

This study was a quasi-experimental research, one group pre-post test. The objective was to study
the effect of Thai massage on the level of activities of daily living, Anxiety and depression in stroke patients.
The sample included 30 stroke patients who lived in Amphur Muang Saraburi. The Barthel index of activities
of daily living and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale were used to collect data. The data were collected
before, after 2 weeks, and 4 weeks after receiving Thai massage. Data were analyzed by using paired t test.
The results revealed that the ADL after 4 weeks of receiving Thai massage were significantly higher (p<0.05).
The levels of anxiety and depression after 4 weeks of receiving Thai massage were significantly decreased
(p<0.05).
