This study aims to investigate the process of management and utilization about peat lands resources, social capital on Kuan Kreng community and factors affecting the social capital in the management and utilization of peat lands forest. The result of the study shows that “Kuan Khreng Peat Lands” the people of two basins are Both of Songkhla lake basins and Pak Panang basins use of peat lands resources together past, uses in many ways, wild material, wood and fishing. The utilization of peat lands resources, harvesting of fishing, weaving handicraft, wild material, wild animals, wood, and land use for agriculture. For peat land resources management found that the trust of people in community for forest management in the most, followed by people in the community to participate in conservation and forest management. The issue of trust in the authorities handling the Kuan Kreng found that a low level. Social capital in Kuan Khreng community has high level. When each was considered separately it was found that the cooperation of community is the highest level, followed by the network group, the trust and helpfulness. The relationship between social capital and resource management and utilization of Kuan Kreng pest land forest overall relations at a high level and in the same direction. Factors that influence the occurrence and existence of social capital in the community to include factors geographic and peat land resources, factors of the community leaders, factors relating to community organizations and the external network.
