Abstract

          Depression leads to cause of premature mortality. Women suffer from depression than men. However suicide rate is more in men than in women. Substance misuse is also more prevalent in men. This paper is discussed about depression in men based on masculine gender norms. The paper explains the low prevalence of depression and screening for depression in men and the prevention and psychosocial intervention. The suggestions from the discussion in this paper can be used for prevention and depression treatment in men.
