CONFIRMATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS FOR THE SIAM LAUGHTER THERAPY SELF-APPRECIATION MODEL

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to examine the agreement of Siam laughter therapy self-appreciation model. The population of this research was people who live in Tha-Chang village, Nong Mark Fai district, Amphor Wattanakorn, Srakeaw province. The purposive sampling method was used to select samples of this research. Samples were totally 179 people who attended Siam laughter activity. Furthermore, the instrument of this research was a questionnaire which was 1-5 rating scale regarding Siam laughter therapy self-appreciation model. The Item Objective Congruence (IOC) was between 0.67-1.00, and Confidence level of0.92. Moreover, the percentage, mean, standard deviation and the agreement of this model were analyzed by the confirmatoryfactor analysis technique.


          The fidings revealed that the majority was female (82.70%) with the average age of 54 years old. In addition, the education background was primary school (65.40%), and the occupation was farmers (60.30%). The results of analyzing the fivemodel of Siam laughter therapy self-appreciation model, which consisted of 1) accept yourself just as you are, 2) be yourself; everyone else is already taken, 3) focus on your strengths, 4) celebrate yourself and your success and 5) acknowledge yourself all the time, showed that the significanceto empirical data with χ2 = 9.66, df = 5, P-value = 0.085, GFI = 0.98, and RMSEA = 0.0072. Moreover, the standard weight of each factor’s was between 0.72-0.88.
