CULTURAL APPROACH MANAGEMENT OF BANKLANG COMMUNITY IN THE AEC ERA

Abstract

     This paper aims to: (1) propose guidelines for cultural management of Ban Klang Community, Amphoe Mueang, Pathum Thani Province; and (2) study cultural management of the
community in the past. This research uses qualitative research method with the focus on in-depth interviews of 30 key research informants. The data was analyzed by interpretation within the context together with descriptive statistics for concrete clarity. The study results are the following: 1. The guidelines for cultural management of Ban Klang Community in the ASEAN Economic Community era should be based on the Deming Cycle (PDCA) and should be driven via the FCRS (Family, Community, Religion, and School) mechanism. 2. The community has a community cultural management approach that is in accordance with the Deming Cycle, with the operation process that can be improved or adjusted to be suitable
with the context. Also, the community people have the clear viewpoint that they want to preserve their local culture identity that reflects their Thai, Mon and Chinese ethnicities with the high feasibility of organizing activities. As for recommendations from this study, the community should build strong networks such as the coordination between the public and private sectors, the creation of management system and presentation of projects for budget allocation, the efficient planning for internal and external public relations, and the creation of database system for the study, conservation,dissemination and carrying on the community culture sustainably.
