JOB SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE ASSOCIATED WITH QUALITY OF WORK LIFE IN THE OFFICERS WORKING AT METROPOLITAN POLICE BUREAU

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the Quality of Work Life (QWL) according to personal factors, job satisfaction and its association to QWL, organizational climate and its association to QWL in police officers working at Metropolitan Police Bureau. The samples were 393 police officers working at Metropolitan Police Bureau. The questionnaires 5 parts were used to collect the data. Statistics of data analysis were percentages, mean, standard deviations, t-test, Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient, and One-Way ANOVA.


The results showed that the officers possess moderate job satisfaction, high level of organizational climate and moderate quality of work life. The hypothesis testing revealed that the officers with different sex, marriage status or rank possessed the different level of quality of work life at statistical significance level of .05. It also revealed the positive relationships between job satisfaction and quality of work life, and between organizational climate and quality of work life at statistical significance level of .05.
