Abstract

Public information disclosure is essential for public governance. Enacting the Official Information Act B.E.2540 gives citizens a legal right to obtain access to official government information. Research found that citizens have insufficient knowledge about the Act and are not aware of their rights. They view that state agencies do not conform to the Act and they have difficulties accessing public information. Improving citizen access to information can be implemented by improving the disclosure of information through the agencies’ websites, having physical information center, and increasing public relations that help increase awareness about the Act.
