Abstract

Comparison of efficacy between modified condom balloon technique and vaginal misoprostol 600 ug. for termination of dead fetus in utero in second trimester. Fourty - two patients in Dumnernsaduak Hospital between 2002 - 2007. There were no significant difference of age, parity and gestational age between two groups. The duration of abortion in the condom balloon group was significant lesser than the misoprosol 600 ug. group. Mean values ±  SD are 15.29 ± 1.84 and 22.52 ± 1.94 hours (P < 0.05). In the misoprostol 600 ug. group, there were decresed in duration of abortion when the gestational age were increased. Complete abortion were 100 and 90.5 percent in condom balloon and misoprosol 600 ug. group, respectively.
