Manuscript Format and Style

Title

All titles of manuscripts should be short and precise; long titles should be condensed whenever possible. Titles should be printed with every first letter of every word capitalized, excluding articles and prepositions of less than 3 letters.

Author

Directly below the title, authors should print their full names (first name then family name), and institution. Corresponding author should print their full names (first name then family name), institution, address, telephone, and email.

Abstract

Manuscripts must be submitted both English and Thai with an abstract limited to 250 words and should include background information, objective, methodology, results, and summary. Keywords should be listed below the abstract and should not exceed 6 words.

Style Guidelines

Abbreviations should not be used unless absolutely necessary, including for names of symptoms, diseases or anatomic and histologic characteristics. However, abbreviations may be used for long names of chemical substances and terms for therapeutic combinations, tests and procedures better known as abbreviations, and for units of measurement when proceeded by a numeral. For tables and figures, abbreviations may be used save space.

Units of measurement should be indicated in SI units throughout. When units other than SI are widely used, they may be indicated in parenthesis after the SI units.

Generic names must be used for all drugs, including the proprietary name if it is more commonly known. Instruments may be referred to by proprietary name with the name of the manufactures in the text parenthetically aside.

Tables & Figures

Total number of tables including figure should not exceed 5. Additional table or figure may be allowed upon discussion of necessity.

All tables must be typed single-spaced. Tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals, in the order in which they are cited in the text. The table’s titular heading should concisely detail the content of the table and include units of measure for all numerical data. It is recommended that author should not repeat information similar to presented tables elsewhere.

Figures should be prepared using a computer and high-resolution printer at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Lettering should be initial capital, then lower case, and uniform in style. Figures should be numbered in the sequence in which they are cited in the text. Figure’s format should be JPG, TIFF, EPS, PDF; and should also be submitted as separate files. Authors should include only figure that convey important research findings/study design. Authors must aware that image manipulation may be considered as falsification. Please study guideline regarding Best Practices in Image Processing by US Office of Research Integrity.

References

For most article, number of references should not exceed 25-30. Citing secondary resources such as review articles or textbooks should be avoided. This journal requires authors to use the AMA citation format.  The AMA style specifies the writing and citation styles for use in the journals published by the American Medical Association.
