The objectives of the research were 1) to study the promotion of living quality of the aged persons living in the Central Northeast Region, 2) to recommend the guidelines for the integration of the Four Buddhist Principles of Iddhipada (Accomplishment) with the promotion of living quality of the aged persons living in the said region. The samples used in the research were 360 aged residents with 60 years and over in the four central northeast region, namely, Khonkaen, Roi Et, Mahasarakham and Kalasin. The instrument used to collect the data was the five-level scale questionnaire divided into three parts.
The research results were as follows:
1. The total number of the questionnaire was 360, classified by sex : 57.50 percentage of females and 42.50 percentage of males, by age brackets : 14.50 percentage with 60-64 years ; 23.30 percentage with 65-69 years ; 45.00 percentage with 70-74 years ; 14.70 percentage with 75-79 years and 2.50 percentage with 80 years and over ; by province : 26.70 percentage residents of Roi Et; 26.10 percentage residents of Khonkaen; 23.30 percentage residents of Mahasarakham and 23.90 percentage residents of Kelasin.
2. The study revealed that the living quality of the aged persons living in the Central Northeast Region, in an overall aspect, stood at the medium level, with the average of 3.14. Classified by individual aspects, the leading item was that of sociability with the average of 3.80, followed by the aspect of personal interaction with the average of 3.71 and the aspect of living condition with the average of 2.72, respectively.
3. The Study of the guidelines for the promotion of living quality of the aged persons living in the said region, ten measures were recommended and they were integrated with the Four Buddhist Principles of Iddhipãda (Accomplishment), namely, Passion, Diligence, Consciousness and Investigation.
