Abstract

The purpose of of this article is to study the ideas, problems and solutions, both economically and artistically, of the 7 important Modernism or Avant-Garde classical composers. After 60 years, the term Avant-Garde, which was represented futuristic qualities of music, became uncontemporary as happened before with other aging classical "Museum" music. After studied the working methods and artistic purposes of each composer, I found that each had made several new musical solutions never happened before in music history. In the same time, some significant understandings to the root of some contemporary musical problems arose from these composers' influences were also gained considerably from this study.
