F-test (One-way ANOVA)

This research aimed to investigate and compare the 7 factors regarding risks as perceived by
international tourists: health, political instability, terrorism, strange food, culture barriers, political and religious
dogma, and crime; to examine the relationship between personal factors and factors of perceived risks before
and after traveling to Thailand; and to investigate opinions of international tourists toward Thailand’s image
before and after traveling to Thailand regarding the 5 factors : tourism resources, tourism personnel, safety, public transportation, and Thai hospitality. Data were collected from documents and survey research of 385
samples by using a questionnaire, and then analyzed by using the SPSS for windows. The statistics used in
data analyses were percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test, f-test and one-way ANOVA. The
level of significance was determined at the 0.05 level.
The result showed that the overall level of perceived risks before and after traveling to Thailand was
found at the low level, and so were the opinions regarding individual factors, which were also low, with the
terrorism factor found at a very low level. The comparisons of perceived risks before and after traveling to
Thailand showed that perception regarding all the factors decreased. Gender, marital status, level of education
and personal risk were correlated to the factors of perceived risks before and after traveling. While numbers
of visits to Thailand and revisit intention were correlated to the factors of perceived risks before traveling,
while age was correlated to the factors of perceived risk. The opinions on Thailand’s image before and after
traveling were at the high level regarding all the factors. Before traveling, factors such as public transportation
and safety were found at the moderate level. After traveling, however, perception regarding Thailand’s image
increased in all the factors.
