บทความนี้ได้ประยุกต์ใช้จำนวนเศษเหลือและหลักการอุปนัยเชิงคณิตศาสตร์ในการศึกษาและหาความสัมพันธ์ของผลบวกของสามจำนวน จำนวนสามชุดที่หลักมากที่สุดเป็นเลขโดด 2, 3, 7 1, 5, 6 และ 4, 8, 9 ตามลำดับ ผลการศึกษาพบรูปทั่วไปของผลบวกดังกล่าว ดังนี้
