การศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียม : ทางออกของความรุนแรงทางเพศ

Abstract

ปัจจุบันปัญหาความรุนแรงทางเพศนับวันจะทวีความรุนแรงมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆเนื่องจากสังคมถูกครอบงำด้วยระบบชายเป็นใหญ่ (patriarchy) บทความนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงกระบวนการทางสังคมที่ซับซ้อนในการจัดวางให้เป็นผู้หญิงเป็นผู้ที่อ่อนแอกว่า เป็นชนชั้นสองในสังคม และกลายเป็นเหยื่อในความรุนแรงทางเพศ

อย่างไรก็ดีการลงโทษผู้ก่อความรุนแรงทางเพศหรือการข่มขืนโดยการประหาร ชีวิตตามกระแสที่เกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน จะไม่สามารถแก้ปัญหาได้อย่างยั่งยืน หากแต่สังคมต้องหันมาให้ความสำคัญในการแก้ปัญหาที่ต้นเหตุด้วยการให้การศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียมระหว่างเพศและเปลี่ยนทัศนคติของสมาชิกในสังคมเสียใหม่เพื่อสร้างสังคมที่สงบสุขและเอื้ออาทรต่อกันอย่างแท้จริง

Education for Equality : Solution for Sexual Violence

Currently, the problem of sexual violence (gender-based violence) has become increasingly frequent and violent because society is dominated by patriarchy. This article reveals that the social process is complicated by the definition of women as weaklings and second-class citizens; therefore, women easily become victims of sexual violence.

However, punishing sexual violence perpetrators by a death penalty as currently called for by the public is not a sustainable solution. To create a truly peaceful and caring society, Thai society should give priority to solving the problem by focusing on the root causes and providing an educational opportunity for changing the public’s attitude.
