Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission file is in Microsoft Word
- A cover letter that the manuscript is submitted to SMJ only, it has never been published elsewhere in English or other languages, and it has been approved by all authors.
- Letter of Certification before Publishing Article(s) in Siriraj Medical Journal (SMJ)
- Checklist before submit the article to Siriraj Medical Journal
- IRB approval, coi disclosure, consent form and clinical trial registration are required. Please include this information with your submission.
- Certification of proofread English by a native English speaker
- Proof of plagiarism check with %Turnitin <20

Illustrations should be saved at the highest resolution setting and sized no larger than 800 kB per file as possible.
Figure images should be provided in JPEG or TIF format. - Diagrams, charts, graphs or tables (NOT exceed 6 in total) should be created and included in MS Word (Submission files). Authors should NOT attach them as pictures in the files.
Original Article
An original article represents a comprehensive research endeavor undertaken by the researchers themselves. It delves deeply into a specific research question or hypothesis, often involving data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Original articles are characterized by their systematic approach to presenting methods, results, and discussions. The manuscript length, excluding references, should not exceed 3,500 words. Tables and figures/ illustrations should not exceed 6 in total.
Review Article
A review article provides an exhaustive synopsis of research on a particular subject or offers a panoramic overview of existing research on a specific topic. It synthesizes findings from various sources, critically assesses the state of the field, and may provide insights into emerging trends and areas of debate. The manuscript length, excluding references, should not exceed 4,500 words. Tables and illustrations should not exceed 8 in total
Letter to the Editor
Letters to the editors are concise communications that offer readers the opportunity to express their opinions or provide insights on previously published articles. These letters can contribute to ongoing discussions or provide additional perspectives on a topic. While brief, letters to the editor should maintain scholarly rigor and contribute to the dynamic. The manuscript length, excluding references, should not exceed 2,500 words.
