Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop administrational strategies for STEM education of secondary school under the office of the basic education commission. The research consisted of 3 stages: 1) To study the status by asking for feedback from school directors and heads of the STEM education project of secondary schools. The study was conducted with 264 persons, who were selected by stratified random sampling. Thereafter study of the guidelines written by the school directors, heads of academic department and heads of the STEM education project. A total of 9 persons were selected for the study and further 5 professionals knowledgeable and experienced in the administration of STEM education. Both groups were selected by purposive selection. 2) Created and verified strategies by the focus group discussion with 9 experts. 3) Evaluated the feasibility and usefulness of the strategies by questionnaires to 201 school directors, who were selected by purposive selection. Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The research found that there are suggested 4 main administrational strategies for STEM education of secondary schools under the office of the basic education commission. Strategy 1: Develop learner’s potential for the 21st century learning. Strategy 2: Promote learning and development of the STEM education. Strategy 3: Develop an effective resource and budgeting management system. Strategy 4: Promote and develop the administration for STEM education. The results of the evaluation of the feasibility and usefulness of the suggested strategies reveal a high level of satisfaction.
