Abstract

Empowerment is a process of transforming the environment or enhancing work system to
empower individuals’ work. It also involves facilitating significant factors influencing work success or
creating methods to develop individuals’ work competence, ensuring that they work with initiative and


self-esteem. It adheres to the social principles of mutual support, cooperative work, good rapport and
participation with gratification, leading to positive results. Empowerment is both a process and product.
In consequence, qualitative research method is one of the approaches to empowerment as it emphasizes
participation and it is result-driven. As a result, qualitative research is a process that promotes teachers
and educators to jointly designate problems, identify solutions or create new knowledge. It can result in
good rapport, dignity, self-worth and confidence when they work, which can then lead to success. It may
be concluded that qualitative research can promote teachers’ and educators’ empowerment and help them
to succeed in their work.
